Libraries Receive United Way Funding
The Lincoln County Library Foundation, the nonprofit partner organization that provides support for Lincoln County libraries, is once again a United Way of Southwest Wyoming Community Partner.
After review of funding applications by United Way volunteers, the Library Foundation was recently granted $6,000 for the 2012-13 fiscal year. Through the community invest process, United Way allocates funds raised from their Annual Campaign.
Lincoln County libraries use United Way funding to promote reading for students and preschoolers and have about 1/3 more dollars for children’s programs as a result of the United Way grant.
Lincoln County libraries have received United Way funding since 2008. Among other things, United Way dollars help support summer reading programs that serve over 1,300 kids countywide.
