To date, the Lincoln County Library Endowment Fund has received $48,137 in donations and $94,956 in matching dollars from the state.  Updated 07/10/10 

Lincoln County libraries are busier than ever helping families survive during these tough economic times–providing help with job applications, teaching 21st century skills, and nurturing the love of reading in kids that will serve them the rest of their lives.  At the same time, the libraries are facing reduced revenue and increased costs.  These are precisely the times when earnings from an Endowment Fund could have a significant impact.

The Lincoln County Library Foundation continues to ask for your support of the Endowment Fund.  County libraries are eligible to receive 2 to1 matching funds from the state on donations up to $213,043.  

What could annual earnings (estimated at 5%) from a $700,000 endowment provide? 

• 600 bestsellers and 10 public access computers;
• 1,200 children’s books and 240 books on CD;
• interlibrary loan costs and supplies for children’s programs for one year; or
• 100% of the libraries’ newspaper and magazine subscriptions for one year and 1,000 young adult books.

                          …the Endowment Fund Challenge

News!  The 2010 Wyoming legislature approved an additional $3 million for the Public Library Endowment Challenge Porgram.  The Lincoln County Library System can now raise $213,043 to receive a match of $426,087.

To date, the Lincoln County Library Endowment Fund has received $35,176 in donations and $65,305 in matching dollars from the state .  Our goal is to take full advantage of this unprecedented opportunity to receive two dollars for every dollar donated.    Thank you to everyone who has donated.          Updated 05/24/10 

The Wyoming State Legislature set aside $12.1 million in matching funds to encourage establishment and growth of library endowments.  Lincoln County libraries are eligible to receive a 2:1 match on donations up to $213,043.  Every dollar donated, up to that amount, will be matched by the state with an additional two dollars.                                                                                          

When libraries statewide have raised $2.3 million cumulatively, each of the state’s 23 county library systems will receive an additional $100,000.  At the end of the fundraising period, June 30, 2013, we could have an endowment of over $700,000.

Over 50 new Playaway preloaded digital audio players were recently

purchased for the Lincoln County Library System with a grant from the

McMurry Library Endowment Fund of the Wyoming Community Foundation.
